The rounded bluestone walk is a distinctive feature that uniquely extends into the driveway. With limited space this technique works to give the appearance of a lengthened walkway to the front door. The full-color bluestone reveals an antique look that compliments the style of the home with its cobblestone and carriage doors.

Conservation efforts with beach grass and dune restoration work to keep this picturesque Cape Cod look alive. Designing an oceanside landscape is always a challenge with such a harsh climate, salty air, and brutal winds. It required Casey’s Design Division to be even more selective and thoughtful when choosing plants and trees for the area.

Daylilies, Shasta Daisies, and Hydrangeas were specifically put in the landscape design because of their simultaneous blooms and complementary colors.

By changing the pH levels in the soil where Hydrangeas are rooted, various shades of pinks and blues bloom from this quintessential Cape Cod flower.

Driving up the hill on the curved cobblestone tracks creates a quaint feeling of driving through the lush lawn. The raised cobblestone border surrounded by plant beds defines the circular driveway while the cobblestone apron forms an inviting entranceway to the home, garage, and Carriage House.

This two-sided accent sitting wall allows the residents to enjoy both the space and the view. The Cape Cod fieldstone used was collected from historic West Barnstable and capped off with traditional bluestone for a comfortable seat and a clean, finished look.
